Project Overview
The Modular Offshore Grid (MOG) is the first grid project of Elia at sea and the first of its kind in Belgium. The MOG will group and connect the offshore produced energy of four new offshore wind farms (Rentel, Seastar, Mermaid and Northwester 2), so that it can be integrated in the Belgian onshore grid via fewer subsea cables. It consists of an Offshore Switchyard Platform (OSY), the transmissions systems on the Rentel OWF platform, and three subsea export cables connecting the platforms with the Stevin 380kV Substation in Zeebrugge, Belgium.

The MOG is of strategic importance for Belgium's further development of renewable energy in the North Sea.

Our customers use our survey vessels to scan and map the seafloor worldwide. This is done to locate changes in the seabed or to find unexploded ammunition and shipwrecks. Our ships are well equipped for route surveys for pipelines and cables for the offshore oil & gas and renewable energy industries.

Geo Plus is specialised in shallow water. Our vessels are deployed in extreme circumstances from arctic areas to tropical coasts.

Over the past three decades, IMDC has been acquiring vast experience through water-related studies such as flood risk assessment, hydraulic modelling, coastal protection, sedimentation risks, dredging engineering, blue energy, river training works, inland navigation, port infrastructures and offshore installations.

From the very start, IMDC has been systematically expanding its knowledge through research and development activities which are implemented in close collaboration with a broad range of European universities and research entities.
Subsoilutions are specialist Cone Penetration Testing (CPT) equipment operators and geotechnical service providers. Founded by owner-operators Wouter Zuijderduijn and Jan Mooibroek, Subsoilutions' geotechnical and CPT capabilities range from offshore, onshore, and everywhere in between. Subsoilutions are specialist operators of Geomil Equipment's Manta Seabed CPT and ORCA Wireline CPT Systems, and have service partnership agreements with major EPCI and site investigation specialists, including DEME Group and G-tec.
