Our Story
It all started when we decided that we wanted to try to send a solar powered robotic boat from Los Angeles to Hawaii.

It was a fun side project: build a small GPS-guided solar-powered boat and send it from Los Angeles to Hawaii, completely autonomously. We wanted to do something cool that had never been done before.

While researching components for the project, we realized that the limiting component was the thruster. We needed something high quality to resist saltwater, operate continuously, and be efficient for months on end. The least expensive options we could find were over $550 each, pushing us over our budget. Not to mention, these thrusters needed maintenance every 50 hours and were designed with outdated technology. As we did more research, we found that many people are building their own marine robots and are having the same problem. Most of them have simply given up or used less-than-ideal solutions, like using brushless motors directly in water that have to be replaced when they corrode. Some people tried to build their own thrusters, but with little success.

We set out to design a thruster that is affordable, reliable, and more capable than anything out there to enable these people and many more to explore the ocean. Now here we are.

Turntables
Oceanteam Solutions is specialised in building and operating demountable turntable systems. We can design and produce turntables in various sizes, for onshore and offshore use and for a variety of cables, umbilicals, pipes or flowlines. We are known for delivering quality equipment and services within limited time; our turntables can be built within a three months time frame.

Our turntable series is designed for quick mobilisation with limited deck load. All system components are ‘plug and play’ and interchangeable. The modular systems are delivered to the mobilisation site in 40 ft containers. This means the equipment can be transported by road and sea and taken to any port in a cost effective and time efficient manner.

Tensioners
Oceanteam Solutions has four 10t tensioners for the installation of power cables and umbilicals. The tensioners are delivered with a control cabin and HPU. These robust systems can be easily bolted or welded to the deck and can by transported by road. We can also supply a 15t caterpillar tensioner for the installation of a variety of products with a diameter ranging from 70 - 630mm.

Reels
Oceanteam Solutions supplies different sizes of storage reels with drive systems that can handle a variety of cables, umbilicals, pipes or flowlines. In addition, cable handling and storage equipment as well as experienced cable handling crew are readily available.
