The 53rd European Marine Biology Symposium (EMBS) will be organised in Ostend by the Flanders Marine Institute (VLIZ) and LifeWatch Belgium between September 17th and 21st, 2018. EMBS53 aims at linking the history, the present and the future of (European) marine biology. This edition will be special, as 2018 is a celebration year in Ostend: the first ... Moremarine station ever worldwide was inaugurated exactly 175 years ago, in Ostend, by professor Pierre-Joseph Van Beneden. Since then, the world of marine biology has changed dramatically - both in Belgium and Europe - especially in relation to used technologies and techniques. EMBS53 therefore focuses on the following themes (see flyer):

Blue Tech Demo Days 2018 — Discovering new technologies is still best done through live demonstrations. Therefore eight innovative and complementary companies active in the blue economy are joining forces with Flanders' Maritime Cluster and The Blue Cluster to demonstrate their technologies through a series of hands-on sessions on September 19th and ... More20th. 

These sessions are available from 10:00 to 17:00 for those who were invited for this purpose, with reception until 19:00. During this time, participants also have the opportunity to meet their trusted, as well as new, suppliers and above all to experience 'live' how the technology and services of these suppliers can be integrated into efficient offshore solutions. 

The Blue Tech Demo Days are free upon personal invitation, but registration is required.

The event is financially supported by the city of Bruges and the Factory for the Future Blue Energy, POM West Flanders.
Belgian Offshore Days, 21-22 March 2018, Ostend Sea P’lace (Hippodroom), Belgium. Belgian Offshore Days 2018 will bring together more than 50 companies active in the Offshore Wind Industry.
