About Us
Probedrill is a West Australian based leader in geotechnical site investigation and assessment. Our experienced team of cone penetration testing (CPT) operators specialise in electric friction cone penetration testing (EFCP)/(CPT), piezocone testing (CPTU), seabed cone penetration testing (CPT), dissipation testing, seismic cone penetrometer testing (SCPT), seismic cone penetrometer testing (dual geophone) (SCPT), dilatometer testing (DMT), seismic DMT (SDMT), standpipe installation, soil sampling, piston sampling, dual tube sampling, sediment sampling, electrical vane shear testing, vibrating wire piezometer (VWP) installation, electronic plate load testing, vacuum potholing, ball penetrometer/T-bar penetrometer testing, water sampling, MIP/ROST environmental testing, and resistivity/conductivity testing.

The company has been operational in Western Australia since August 1995. We have progressively updated, expanded and improved our geotechnical services in all areas available for cone penetration testing.

Our site testing services can provide you with the full range of geotechnical data for the mining industry, public infrastructure, building and construction, marine industry and academic research needs.

Probedrill can also mobilise multiple rigs (trucks & rubber-tracked), within the Perth Metro area, for the cost of just one mob/demob!

We use the latest in probing technology and are fully committed to achieving total customer satisfaction.

If required, we can manufacture (or retro-fit) our equipment to meet specific job requirements to suit any special needs (such as horizontal probing through a wall).

Memberships
AGS
The Association of Geotechnical and Geoenvironmental Specialists (AGS) is a non-profit making trade association established to improve the profile and quality of geotechnical and geoenvironmental engineering. The membership comprises UK organisations and individuals having a common interest in the business of site investigation, geotechnics, geoenvironmental ... Moreengineering, engineering geology, geochemistry, hydrogeology, and other related disciplines.

Our Mission

promote and enhance the quality of professional practice in geotechnical and geoenvironmental engineering

facilitate close liaison between all geotechnical and geoenvironmental organisations

champion and represent the geotechnical and geoenvironmental industry

represent and uphold Member’s interests in commercial and professional matters

agree and publish guidelines on good practice and on ethical and professional matters

encourage quality management systems in geotechnical and geoenvironmental work

assist and influence decision making within Client organisations

In furtherance of these objectives, meetings and seminars are held each year in various parts of the country and a series of publications have been issued. In addition, a Newsletter is distributed six times a year to key individuals within organisations across all sectors of the industry to publicise the work and progress of the AGS and its working parties and to present informed articles and commentaries on topical issues or events.
Case Studies
In April and May 2016, Probedrill successfully completed seabed testing for the international developer Senvion, for the Ceres Project on South Australia's Yorke Peninsula. The Ceres Project is one of the largest renewable energy projects in Australia and involves connecting a high voltage direct current (HVDC) cable located under the Gulf of St Vincent, ... Moredirectly to Adelaide's power grid. The AU$1.5 billion project has development approval for up to 197 wind turbines on the Yorke Peninsula, with the first power expected to flow in 2018.

Probedrill completed a 14-day nearshore geotechnical site investigation comprising cone penetration testing (CPTU) testing Golder Associates, and also worked alongside SEAS Offshore who completed the vibrocore sampling campaign, and Maritime Constructions who provided the workboat.

Using the suction anchors on our seabed CPT system, we were able to achieve over 10 tonnes of thrust from a 4.5 tonne rig, and testing down to 5m within waters that were up to 30m deep.

With the success and smooth operation of this recent work, we look forward to the opportunity to undertake further underwater work.

Please feel free to contact us if you are interested in obtaining further information on our Seabed CPT equipment.
Events
13th Australia New Zealand Conference on Geomechanics, 1-3 April 2019, Perth Convention and Exhibition Centre, Australia. The 13th Australia New Zealand Conference on Geomechanics will be held at the Perth Convention and Exhibition Centre situated in the heart of Perth in Western Australia. The conference has a diverse range of themes including: Foundations ... Moreand Retaining Structure, Ground Improvement, Offshore and Nearshore Geotechnics plus many more.

This promises to be an ideal forum for exploring the recent learnings in the broader Geomechanics community. It is from these learnings that the industry is able to continue to drive new innovations and drive practice forward.

The Australia New Zealand Conference on Geomechanics is always an important meeting place for professionals working in the Geomechanics industry and will again be a great place to explore the new directions emerging in the industry. It is an opportunity to engage with speakers from across Australia, meet up with colleagues, network and visit the exhibitor displays.

We welcome and value the ongoing support from past sponsors of the ANZ conferences and encourage new sponsors to take up the opportunities and brand exposure that this conference can offer.
