Achilles — Our business is built on the idea that, in an ever-more-connected world, we're not just responsible for what we do – we're also accountable for what's done on our behalf. And where there's accountability, there's a need for control… When we started out in 1990 operating in the gas and oil industry, we saw that control was something buyers ... Moreneeded more of. So we designed our community model, our supporting services and the technology that powers them to address this need. We wanted to drive a new kind of procurement with less risk, less cost and less compliance issues. At the same time, wanted to bring suppliers into the fold – to help them meet buyers' needs while reducing their own qualification burdens.

Today, with all kinds of stakeholders holding businesses to ever-higher standards, it's even more important for businesses to have a complete picture of their supply chains – not just in terms of their business performance, but their ethical and environmental standards too. Against this backdrop, our drive to develop and refine our offering has only increased.

Now we're working from offices all over the globe, serving a network of over 800 buyers and 175,000 suppliers in all kinds of industries. As such, we're proud to be part of a truly worldwide community dedicated to raising standards and doing business in ways that benefit everyone.

Connections
UK renewable energy developer EDF Energy Renewables and operations and maintenance business EDF ENS UK have come together under a new brand –EDF Renewables. That's the new name for EDF Group's solar and wind activities in more than 20 non-French speaking countries around the world.... More

EDF Renewables in the UK has 34 wind farms, including 2 offshore wind farms and also a battery storage unit. Its goal is to use expertise and innovation to make low carbon electricity more competitive and effective for consumers.

It also looks after the operations and maintenance of wind farms which helps to increase their production and lifespan.

EDF Renewables has already demonstrated its ability to drive innovation, for example in the Blyth Offshore Demonstrator Project, where float and submerge technology was used in the installation of gravity base foundations, 66 kV cables and 8.3 MW turbines – all firsts in offshore wind.

EDF Renewables is also looking at the future of onshore wind using the most modern and efficient turbines to make this technology increasingly competitive.

The increase in wind and solar power poses new challenges for the grid, that's why EDF Renewables has built the UK's largest battery storage at West Burton B to help balance supply and ensure reliability for customers.

EDF Renewables in the UK remains a joint venture between EDF Energies Nouvelles and EDF Energy and is one of the country's leading renewable energy companies which develops, builds and operates generation projects with a focus on onshore and offshore wind as well as battery storage technology. We also look after the operations and maintenance of our wind farms.
