About Us
WaveWalker BV is a joint venture company between Fugro and Van Oord which owns, supplies and operates walking jack-ups that provide flexible, efficient resources for marine industry projects in difficult environments, such as surf and intertidal zones, shallow water areas, rough seas, environmentally sensitive sites and on beaches and rocky foreshores.

Developed on the experience and innovation of our partners (Fugro and Van Oord) who recognised the need for effective, flexible resources that could support a diverse range of marine operations, WaveWalker BV was established with the shared operation to design, build and operate WaveWalker 1, the first walking jack-up barge specifically designed to offer a safe, secure solution for marine operations typically affected by tides and weather. This unique, self-contained walking jack-up is capable of operating in shallow water depths, surf and intertidal zones, rough seas and on beaches, thanks to its ability to independently walk in to position.

WaveWalker BV's self-contained walking platform can deliver a comprehensive range of services to companies working within the marine industry, including those involved with drilling and blasting, geotechnical site investigations and marine construction. If you want to find out more about how WaveWalker BV can support your project, please get in touch.

Cables 2018, tracking the entire cables lifecycle, will focus on improving subsea power cable operating practices, reducing costs & risks, and improving subsea power cable efficiency and performance. Attend this new event designed to meet the needs of the cables industry.... More

The growth offshore wind and interconnection mean that subsea power cables are an increasingly vital part of our energy system. The growing importance of subsea cables creates new opportunities for manufacturers, installers and services provides but also creates new challenges for cable protection and improve cable maintenance. Sharing our industry's unique experience in subsea cables is key to developing innovative solutions for deploying and maintaining cables, which will enhance the sustainability and efficiency of this market.

This unique event will offer insights into the key issues surrounding asset integrity and reliability with highlights from the design, subsea survey, manufacture, installation, protection, repair, operation & maintenance and decommissioning of subsea power cables in the markets of offshore renewables, offshore transmission infrastructure and interconnectors. The power-packed event addresses the sector demand for industry-led engagement and aims to answer the following questions:

Is the subsea power cable supply chain geared-up to meet the growing demand across survey, installation and manufacturing of, given the significant growth in international interconnectors and offshore wind ?

Will reducing cable installation issues, manufacturing faults, and third party damage improve insurance provision and the financing arrangements for subsea cabling projects?

Can collaboration across supply-chain, regulators and owner/operators drive learning, innovation and improvement across the sector?
